"My husband and I greatly enjoyed and appreciated your two Heritage tours on Friday March 18 and Monday March 21, 2016. We learnt a lot and found your information and delivery quite inspiring. Thank you very much for your contribution to our holiday experience…your historical and local knowledge brought our trip to life and gave it deep meaning and interest. Without you, we would never have been able to discover sites like the Bardo Narrang site or understand their significance. Having local guides who love their work as you both do, makes all the difference in the world! Once again, thank you both very much for your very interesting insights on our tour."

"Carol and Geoff provided a fantastic tour for Sydney Living Museums volunteers' annual outing. We made a trip out to the Hawkesbury and Carol and Geoff accompanied us on our coach and were able to point out many significant historic properties and buildings along the way. They were extremely knowledgeable and gave interesting and broad information rather than bombarding people with long and detailed facts. Our volunteers really enjoyed their commentary and learnt a lot about the area. Carol and Geoff also knew many of the local sites we visited including Ebenezer Church, St Matthew's Church and Hawkesbury Regional Museum which helped to make the day a positive experience for all. We wouldn't hesitate in booking them for another tour in the future."

Hawkesbury Sketchbook tour
27 October 2012

Please find herewith my editorial about the Hawkesbury Sketchbook Tour:-

"I recently went on the Hawkesbury Sketchbook Tour hosted by Carol and Geoff. Not knowing a great deal about the Hawkesbury region, I was unsure about what to expect from the tour. However, I needn't have worried as the tour surpassed any doubts I may have had. The tour was conducted from a luxury coach and Carol and Geoff have a great and vast knowledge, not only of the Hawkesbury region, but of the early Colonial History of Australia, including persons of interest, to how the first farms and outbuildings were made. The telling of the stories of the many great floods the Hawkesbury has had is quite sad but still leaves you hanging off the edge of your seat. As a descendant from a First Fleet Convict, Carol made sure that I did not miss out on where he left his mark in the Windsor area, and even showed me his grave site at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery. I was looked after by Carol and Geoff throughout every aspect of the tour, with superb settings and surrounds for morning tea and lunch. At the end of the tour I felt as though I had known Carol and Geoff for years.! Meeting local artist Greg Hansell was also a highlight of the Tour. I am currently planning to go on another tour with them."

"What a great, well run tour delivered by very knowledgeable hosts. I learned so much about this very important historical area and had fun and met new people. Particularly enjoyed visiting areas relating to the very talented artist Greg Hansell. Highly recommend any of your tours."

Just a few sentences but it's heartfelt:

"We already planned to get along to Greg Hansell's Hawkesbury Sketchbook exhibition when we learned about and opted to take the associated day trip to explore the locations for the artworks. As residents of the district we did wonder at first how useful it would be. As it happened, what a delightful surprise! So much history, so many stories and so many secrets that we had not discovered ... and likely never would. Our guides Carol and Geoff proved to be living encyclopedias filling in so many connections between the pioneering families and the local built and natural landscape. We are inspired now to continue exploring this special piece of Australia's heritage."

Greg Hansell Tour
23rd June 2012

The Historic Houses Trust Members thoroughly enjoyed their unique and interesting tour of the Hawkesbury region based on the art works of local artist, Greg Hansell. Our members require a high level of historical knowledge and interpretation and this was provided for by Carol and Geoff on this specially designed tour.

Everything was carefully planned and detailed ensuring a smooth and seamless day packed with sites, historical information and interesting stories. Carol and Geoff are a perfect complement to each other as tour leaders. We are looking forward to working with Hawkesbury Valley Heritage Tours again in the near future.

Mid Week Run
20th June 2012

Thank you very much for organising the run last Wednesday. We found it very interesting. The format was great, making it most enjoyable. The roast was the best we have had for some time! We can also recommend the oranges straight from the orchard.

Thanks again for your effort and care.

Hawkesbury Day trip
June 2012

Written to Andrew Finlay, the Cultural Programs Manager Historic Houses Trust Members.

This was my first day trip with HHT - I hadn't gone on previous ones because of the very early departure times.

What a wonderful day it was, so well organised and I would give it ten out of ten. What a good idea to have the paintings on the intinerary. I look forward to going on more of these trips.

Historic Houses Trust Tour
23rd June 2012

Firstly, I would like to thank you & Geoff for a great day out yesterday. I must admit when I first read the itinerary I wondered how it all was going to fit in one day, hats off to you guy's & the HHT. I felt compelled to do the tour, as I have always had a fondess for the Hawkesbury area (I grew up at Portland, before moving to the Central Coast about 20 years ago) & we always passed through on our way to either Sydney or the Coast. I have always had an interest in Australian History & it was great to find out that I had a convict ancestor.

I thought it was fantastic yesterday to briefly speak to you about my ancestor - you definitely have your finger on the pulse.

Once again thank you for an awesome day out, look forward to hearing from you.

"...Mrs Roberts is a clear easy speaker with a good understanding of the kind and amount of information that makes a tour entertaining for the participants. It was also clear, moreover, that her commentary was based on a deep knowledge of the local history of the area, coming both from a familiarity with the published local histories and a knowledge of places and personalities derived from her family, long resident in the area."
